    1. The Alien-Sedition Acts went against the Constitution because the Constitution was all about freedom but the Alien-Sedition Acts included new powers to deport foreigners, also making it harder for new immigrants to vote in presidential elections, therefore limiting the freedom of people.

  18. The Alien and Sedition Acts stated that anyone who spoke ill of the government, especially editors, could be imprisoned or fined. Many people became angry because they believed it was a violation of their rights given to them by the Constitution.

    The qualities that Jefferson lacked were that he was not a "dashing figure". He had everything right on paper, he was the perfect candidate for the presidency, but he simply did not have the charisma like Washington. Nobody could compare to George Washington.

  25. Adams signed the Alien Sedition Acts because he did not want to fight a war against the French when he knew their army/navy was inadequate and would inevitably lose against France. Many people saw him as weak and timid for not challenging those who doubted their American pride, so in order to show how tough he was he signed the Acts, yet this ultimately dooms his presidency.
